Yes I feel ready, the thing I loved most about this run was the steady pace kept throughout, it at least allows me to think I’ll be able to finish the official run in a decent time.

10K Session 27: Penultimate training session and I’m pushing it
September 15th, 201110K Session 26: Sprints I still hate them
September 13th, 2011Okay I’ve been so happy with the recent training sessions, but sprinting, boy to I still hate sprinting, I only managed to reach max speed on 5 of the 10 sprints!
10K Session 25: Best 10km yet
September 11th, 2011A week to go and I’m just feeling great, this was my best 10km run so far this whole training routine so things are building up nicely.
10K Session 24: Happy little run
September 10th, 2011Having had a great buzz of running in Merode (Brussels), I couldn’t physically manage to fit in Session 23 as I was on a plane, but we’re back to the weekend and today’s 25 minute session was a great way to get back into the swing of things, in fact I even pushed a little harder than I should have done, but still and enjoyable run.
10K Session 22: Merode in Brussels, a runners oasis
September 5th, 2011I’ve been more determined to continue my training sessions, even while on my travels and so this trip to Brussels could not be an exception! After a little searching it looked like a number of runs were being tracked in Merode, so I decided to head there and see what the story was.

I took the Metro, and the minute I popped my head out of the Metro stop I could see numerous runners passing by the gates of Parc du Cinquantenaire. It was perfect, just perfect there was a 2.3km track around the park, most of it had gravel on it so it wasn’t too hard on the feet, there was only a small stretch were I had to run on the road, but even then it wasn’t in a area were cars were passing by so it was nice.
Overall I’m delighted with the run and the experience.
10K Session 21: The longest mile
September 4th, 2011What a wet day, got purely soaked to the bone on this one, the clouds were so low that the GPS tracker tripped out a few times which was a bit annoying. In the end it was a slow walk on the warm down part of the session.
10K Session 19: Not quite race pace yet
August 31st, 2011Well yes things are getting better, and I feel stronger.
This was a run down the bog road, and while the track out on this first 5km is good, it gets a little ropey on the way home.

10K Session 18: Running in the dark
August 29th, 2011A long trip back from Mayo yesterday, so didn’t get to complete the long run scheduled, and really it was quite late (8.50pm) starting tonight to I went straight for Session 18 a shorter 50 minute stint.
It’s not that the sessions are getting easier, I just feel so much better doing them.
10K Session 16: Wow breathing better at last
August 27th, 2011I’m going to count yesterdays walk up Croagh Patrick as Session 15. Anyway this time I finally found a quiet road, a couple of sharp inclines but nothing too bad and finally I think I managed to match my breathing with my running pace.
I’m finally starting to feel good about this!
